ps:This one may be considered gross by ladies..so ladies, unless you
cannot suppress your female curiosity, just do not watch it..:-)
Interesting read the "Proposed AVLV Charter Amendment" recently mentioned.
Was this proposal written by the same Don so many of you seem to know and
love? If so, what has happened to his spelling and typing skills since
2006? Too, I note eleven 'articles' in his Proposal. I'm assuming his
Proposal was never ratified -- as I see all eleven violated almost daily.
I post here. Sometimes, methinks, too often. I try, not always
successfully, to limit my replies. I, like most everyone else, have an
opinion on virtually everything: politics, TV shows, donuts, and coffee. (I
am a registered Independent, my favorite TV show is "House, MD", Dunkin
Donuts are nasty, and I hate Starbucks, like Seattle's Best, and for many
years have enjoyed my daily cups of coffee I get fromwww.gevalia.com. Oh,
and, unlike many, I really am not interesting in "trip reports".
That said, following -- for those who care for such boring reports -- are
Had tickets to see Crosby, Stills & Nash at M last night. I've never been
to M and, more than I wanted to hear this group, I wanted to check out M's
outdoor concert venue. I think many concerts are better/more fun outside.
I miss the old days of hearing Chicago at Caesar's outdoor stadium (where
the current swimming pool is located??) or enjoying some smooth jazz at
Sunset Station's no longer used (??) outdoor venue.
Well, yesterday afternoon I scored some freebie tix to Barry Manilow. I
called my friend, with whom I had plans to go M to tell him the news. He
was on the phone with his (out-of-town) girlfriend when I called. Her
reply: I hope people don't think you two are gay.
I've always enjoyed Manilow's music and, for five years, I've wanted to see
his show. While the show was good, I think my expectations/anticippppations
were too high. 8:00 show started at 8:15 and was over by 9:25. Bought no
drinks.
Last weekend, again scored freebies to two events. Friday night saw Cheap
Trick doing their Beatle's Sgt. Pepper's rendition. (Same theatre and
almost the same freebie seats as for Manilow.) The show was great! Not
sure if it was a great show, if my anticipation level was much lower than
for Manilow, or if it was the two, overpriced, rounds of drinks we had.
($16 + tip for a draft beer and one shot of scotch.)
Saturday night I went to see Carrot Top at Luxor. I would never pay actual
dollars to see Carrot Top (or a whole host of other Vegas shows) but for
free, and to get my lazy butt out of the house, I went. His show was better
than I expected. He kept the show fresh with humorous references to current
events. The small bar area was overcrowded with people so I passed on
getting a drink but did note the prices were comparable to most way
overpriced Vegas drink outlets.
A few weeks ago got tickets (again, free) to see Christopher Cross and
America at Buffalo Bill's Star of the Arena in Primm. (I still say the
"town" should have been left un-renamed as Stateline.)
This was my first time to this arena. First impression: it's huge! Second
impression: it's cold as ice in here! I think this thing seats 6,000+.
More conducive for a rodeo than a concert. And, did I mention, it was
friggin COLD?
Concert started late. Everything - from start to finish - seemed
disorganized. Christopher Cross sounds better on his albums than he does
live. America sounded good but, after enduring show delays, a HORRID drink,
and intolerable cold, it was impossible to enjoy.
I expect more free ticket offerings to the Star of the Arena in the coming
months and will take advantage of at least one. I hate to judge anything -
a person, a restaurant, or a concert venue - based on just one experience --
although I will NEVER AGAIN buy that disgusting $4 mojito!! Beer, which
Jana drinks, is more reasonably priced than in Vegas. And, next time, I
will take a sweater/jacket even if it's 110 degrees outside.
Lastly, being a relative AVLV newbie, must I have either a stalker or a law
suit filed against me to be a *real* member? I have neither ... and I'm
kinda feeling left out.

The last time I was in Vegas was 2008 where I met most of the AVLVhttp://www.lifeinlasvegas.net

regulars.
I met dr. Baf and we went out together a few nights later. He wanted
me to drop
him off at an adult bookstore and I was rather confused as I thought
we were
supposed to spend time together. I returned an hour or so later and
there was Baf
with this colored transsexual. He said he wanted us to do her together
tag team style
and obviously i told him no. Then he pulled down her panties and told
me that was
where the feast was. She had a shrunken little penis, likely the
result of many years
of hormone therapy. I told Baf he was truly a sick individual and i
made him walk back.
The moral of this story? Don't go out in Vegas with dr. Baf.
