" That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and
strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world... "
Eph.2:12
in this passage of Holy Scripture we are told exactly what an ' atheist ' is... the term " without
God " is rendered by the translator's from the Greek word " atheos " from which we get our English
word " atheist. "
an atheist, then, is a person who is " without God. "
however, upon prudent examination of this passage where the word atheos is found we see that to be
atheos... without God... is by God's choice, and not that of the atheist, since all of the grace and
goodness of the Living God is not directed to the benefit of the one who is " without God."
this doctrine flows throughout the whole of Holy Scripture. the peoples of the ancient world who
were killed in the Flood of Noah's time were all atheists... not a single one of them were chosen to
be saved from the killing Flood... which, BTW, is a metaphor for the Gospel of salvation through
Jesus Christ represented by the Ark as a typology.
salvation came to Noah and his family by the Ark while those outside of the Ark, perished.
this is further spoken of in the Bible that the Gospel is a sweet perfume to those whom God favor's
by giving them life and faith in Christ unto remission of sins and completely caustic to those not
so chosen by God for life and faith in Jesus Christ. 2 Cor.2:14-16.
coupled with this is the doctrine of the Bible that an atheist is an atheist from cradle to grave,
Ps.58:3, and he remains without God in the saving sense of full deliverance from the bondage of
Satan, sin and death so that the atheist is on the outside looking in all of his life unless God
acts first to undo the state of being the atheist is in.
that the atheist curses God and his fellow man is evidence enough that he is abandoned by God.
the nature of the atheist in the inner man examples itself by his foul ball outlook on life... he
knows in his heart of hearts that only misery is in store for him day after day until the moment of
his death, at which time he is released from his continual anguish.
when the atheist curses God as he does he is evidencing to the world that he is indeed
" without God." that he is keep under bondage and dismissed to a life of chaotic reprobation by God
well demonstrates itself by the atheist that he is the cause of his own effects. for example, he
blames God for his condition all the while saying there is no such thing as God.
we note that the condition of the atheist can not ever be repaired by himself... tomorrow will be
just like today, meaningless. it takes an act of God to bring him into the salvation favor of God,
who, contrary to the theology of Mr.Everyman, does not desperately want all men to be saved.
if that were true, everyone would have climbed aboard the Ark.
on the bright side of the coin, so to speak, there is no such place or state of being as eternal
hell fire according to God's own Word, recorded for us in the Bible. the atheist simply perishes,
returns to dust from which we all are made. this evidences the great mercy of God even towards
those who curse Him.
an amazing aspect of Atheism plays out in the atheist that he will not come under the Lordship of
God of his own free will, Jn.5:40. this again shows us the condemnation he is under... he is
completely helpless and he is not about to change by any means in and of himself.
