Before the Judgment seat of Christ
The day of Jesus' coming will be the great Pay-Day
for God's people. "And, behold, I come quickly; and
my reward is with me, to give every man according
as his work shall be." Rev. 22:12.
"For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid,
which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this
foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay,
stubble; Every man's work shall be made manifest: for
the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by
fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort
it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built
thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work
shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall
be saved; yet so as by fire." 1 Cor. 3:11-15.
"For we must all appear before the judgment seat of
Christ; that every one may receive the things done in
his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be
good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord,
we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God;
and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences."
2 Cor. 5:10-11.
Before the judgment seat of Christ are merely those who
believe in Jesus. Here it is faith-deeds that count, such
deeds that we do by faith in Jesus. None be saved by works
of the law, Gal. 2:16, and none be saved without works of
faith. Matt. 7:21-23. Sins and unrighteous deeds, which we
have been cleaned from through Jesus' blood, do not be
accounting before the court of Christ. Yet, there are
Christians that are building on the right ground, but with
wrong material. For those Jesus' arrival and the great day
of reward do not become so glorious as it ought to be. That
day many Christians will see their whole life-work, or a
great part of it, be burned up. It becomes a tremendous
humiliation to see that what they have struggled for and
meant they have served God with, really are entirely
worthless for him.
"Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my
brothers, because you know that we who teach will be
judged more strictly." James 3:1 (NIV). At the judgement
seat of Christ all preachers must give answers before the
Lord how they have preached and taught. Their reward
will be according that. How have they preached about the
Assembly of God?
Jesus says in Matt. 24:48-51, "But if that evil servant shall
say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; And shall
begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with
the drunken; The lord of that servant shall come in a day
when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not
aware of, And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his
portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and
gnashing of teeth."
Here Jesus tells about the religious drunkenness. It is not
alcohol that the wicked servant is drunk of, but it is the
wine of the great whore, that is of the false doctrine of the
Church. Rev. 17:2, 18:3.
This is not only a terrible warning how it will happen to a
preacher who mismanages his duty. The reality is worse
than so. There are not only one or a few such preachers.
No, the majority of the preachers in our time are such
preachers. Most preachers and bible teachers do not
struggle for the truths of the Bible. Instead they become
irritated and angry when we study what the Bible teaches
about the Assembly of God. They apprehend this as
criticism and judging, and tell about love and fellowship
and that we shall love one another. Surely, God is the love,
but God's love does not hinder us to study God's word.
What I have written about the Assembly of God and about
churches and denominations, are bible study and answers
to prayers. No honest man can take offence at this or be
wounded of this.
"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because
thou hast rejected knowledge..." Hosea 4:6. Why do the
people not get knowledge? It is because those who would
preach God's word have rejected the knowledge of the
Assembly of God. Instead of preaching the truth of the
Assembly of God, they have preached lies about the
Assembly of God.
"For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they
should seek the law at his mouth: for he is the messenger
of the LORD of hosts." Malachi 2:7. But the priests of
the churches are not priests of God.
Those who appear as bible teachers and preachers and
claim that they have God's calling to preach his word,
those are responsible that the people do not get knowledge.
Those preachers are involved in the sins and faithlessness
against the Lord, which they would have preached and
warned against.
